Dolce is a luxury children’s toy made in the motif of “spring riders” found in playgrounds.
When an exquisite product like the Rolex is created, cheap fakes abound.
But, what if there are fakes that are more expensive than the real thing?
When you think about it, the spring riders found in parks are molds made to look like rabbits and fawns.
So, in a way, my creation only brings them back to being the real thing.
If you look at it that way,
Real (spring rider) > Fake (this piece)
is no longer the construct,
but instead it is:
Real (animal) > Fake (spring rider) > Real (this piece)
Due to the diversity of fake Rolexes, there are even people who collect them.
Japan’s technology had its beginnings in copying the world’s advanced products, but then developed to overtake them.
Fake and real... it’s difficult to judge which has more value, or which is the truth.
