Crystal Incubator is part of my ongoing Crystal series, in which I simulate the natural phenomenon of crystallization. The device maintains optimal conditions for crystallization\water temperature, mineral concentration, and gentle rotation\within a controlled tank, allowing transparent and beautiful crystals to grow slowly over time. Once the crystals have formed, I remove them from the Crystal Incubator and sculpt them by hand. After sculpting, I place them back into the incubator to continue growing. Through this repeated process, the boundary between natural formation (crystallization) and human intervention (sculpture) becomes increasingly indistinguishable. The resulting works are what I call Pillar of Salt.
